The JOL Law of Attraction Experiment

Filed under: Abraham-Hicks, Creating your own reality, Law of Attraction — admin @ 4:48 pm

“Every thought vibrates, every thought radiates a signal, and every thought attracts a matching signal back.  We call that process the Law of Attraction.  The Law of Attraction says:  That which is like unto itself is drawn.  By the powerful Universal Law of Attraction, you draw to you the essence of whatever you are predominantly thinking about.  So if you are predominantly thinking about the things you desire, your life experience reflects those things.  And, in the same way, if you are predominantly thinking about what you do not want, your life experience reflects those things.”

~Abraham-Hicks, Authors of “Ask and it is Given”

What a powerful message this is…a reminder of the absolute control each and every one of us has to create the life we have always wanted.   Just choose the right thoughts and watch your life unfold into the glorious experience you have always dreamed of.   It seems simple enough, but there is so much more to the story.  The fact is, we love the idea of thinking our reality into being, but how many of us really consciously do it? How many of us really practice the principles that make this law work for us?

I have a strong core belief in the Law of Attraction.   When I learned of it through Jerry and Esther Hicks and their non-physical friends Abraham, it felt like absolute truth.  It felt like relief.  It felt like a knowing I had carried with me for eternity and had simply forgotten about.  It felt like a re-discovery of my own personal power, which I had relinquished to outside circumstances and events for so long.  It helped me to adjust my perspective in ways I never thought possible.  I have no doubt that the Law of Attraction works, from a spiritual perspective, but also because it has worked in my physical life—for and against my desired outcomes.

I have had many wonderful manifestations appear as a result of my focus, charged with positive emotion around my desire, and I have had miserable experiences manifest as a result of my focus, charged with negative emotion around my longing for something absent, or my observation of a reality I didn’t want to live any more.  What I have come to understand about the Law of Attraction, is that there is a commitment and some effort that must go into the process of “vibrating” your reality into being through thought.  Most of us are very lazy in the sense that we just keep doing what we’ve always done and expecting a different result.  I am guilty of it.  I think most everyone is.  The principles of the Law of Attraction are so counter to what most of us have been conditioned to believe, that it is not easy to change habitual thinking and behavior overnight.  There is a discipline required to reach that higher place.  Tending to our attractive vibration must be the first order of business in our lives if we want to manifest the wonderful experiences we have dreamed of.

We are so trained to be productive, work hard, and get it done.  It is our belief through all of our years of conditioning that nothing good comes to those who don’t toil and suffer.  Rarely have our school teachers or parents talked about the importance of energy alignment in our day to day living.  Our lessons and examples have been primarily about taking action.  Abraham, through Esther and Jerry Hicks, has taught me that action taken without aligning energy first is futile.  In other words, if you want success to come from a particular action, yet you approach that action feeling defeated or frightened of defeat, you cannot achieve success.  You can’t start your day feeling lousy and experience anything other than lousy.  Imagine if you set out each day with an expectation of success and good experiences what your life would look like.  But wait…what will happen if we decide to spend more time aligning energy than engaging in physical action??? Will our lives fall apart as we shift our emphasis from action to energy? I say, let’s find out.

Being an expert multi-tasker myself, it takes a conscious decision to stop and align my energy before doing.  I have spent years doing, doing, doing–being busy, busy, busy.  In between, I have managed to consciously create my reality some of the time, but I am now ready to take it to the next level.  I am ready to commit to a new way of living:  energy alignment first and everything else I have time to do second.  What a radical way to live!

What this means is I’ll be taking time to enjoy things more…I commit to make myself feel good before taking action of any kind…I’ll appreciate and expect good things more….I’ll make lists of things to feel good about….I’ll “go with the flow.”

I want to prove how powerful this law really is.  I want to practically demonstrate the immense value of energy alignment before action.  Would you like to join me? Are you ready for some amazing changes in your life? If so, then please come with me on this journey over the remaining days of this year.  I’ll be blogging about my experience and invite you to post comments about yours.  Let’s set an intention to create the life of our dreams using energy alignment today!

JOL LAW OF ATTRACTION EXPERIMENT- 8 BEST PRACTICES:

  1. Read or re-read “Ask and it is Given,” by Esther and Jerry Hicks.  I consider this book to be the most pure source of information on the subject.  For more than twenty years, Jerry and Esther Hicks have been sharing Abraham’s message directly from source through this and other wonderful books.   Many of the terms and concepts I will be discussing are inspired by this life-changing book. I recommend you refer to it and re-read it frequently, to refresh your perspective.  (To purchase this book, click on the red Hay House banner at the top of this page).
  2. Wake up to gratitude.  Before getting out of bed each day, ponder the many things you have to appreciate in your life, from the sheets on your bed to the breakfast you’re going to eat.
  3. Morning Journal.  Journal how you are feeling before getting started with the day’s activities.  Include anything you can remember about the dreams you experienced during sleep.  Take the time necessary to get it all out on paper and notice what emotions are predominant. Make a conscious effort to reach for thoughts that bring emotional relief on the subjects you wrote about.
  4. Abraham Processes.  Use the 22 processes from the book, “Ask and it is Given” to raise your vibration, based upon your “emotional set point.” (To purchase this book, click on the red Hay House banner at the top of this page).
  5. Visualization and or Mediation.  Spend 15 minutes per day visualizing the reality you want to live or meditating to improve your vibration.
  6. Bedtime Journal.  Before turning in for sleep, journal about your day with particular emphasis on all of the things you liked about it.  Include any experiences that you believe are a result of your newly focused energy or higher vibrational set-point.  Make it your utmost priority to, at the very least, feel relief.
  7. Play.  Allow yourself to engage in “non-productive” activities that feed your soul and make you feel good daily, simply for the experience of it.
  8. Act when inspired.  When an idea or urge comes to you and you feel enthusiasm or passion, don’t delay—DO IT! Inspiration is a result of energy alignment and your action vehicle to let your desired outcomes manifest.

So you think this is a lot of commitment.  Well, if you think it is, it is.  If this seems like a lot of work and you don’t feel good about it, don’t do it.  If you aren’t excited about engaging in these activities, this is a waste of your time.  If, on the other hand, you are exuberant or even just hopeful about what you have read here…it is an intuitive signal that you may have stumbled on to something that can result in amazing manifestational results for you.  Remember that this is an individual process, and to “be easy about it,” as Abraham says.  What’s right for me or anyone else isn’t necessarily right for you.  If you do feel inspired to participate, and you fall off the wagon, no big deal….just get back on at the place that feels best for you, where you are in the moment.  There is no perfection in this…just a conscious striving for a feeling of emotional relief and an effort to look for things to feel good about.

Over the coming weeks I will be sharing my experiences, discussing these best practices in detail and providing tools to make this experiment fun and effective.   I will point in the direction of JOY and use my “emotional guidance system” (Abraham) to stay on track.  I have great anticipation and enthusiasm for what’s to come, and I hope you do too. Now, let’s get on with the business of consciously creating our reality!
